Henri Matisse transformed modern art by giving color a freedom that went beyond describing reality. A central figure in Fauvism, he explored painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking. In his final years, cut-outs made from gouache-painted paper brought line and color together in a language of simple shapes and extraordinary energy.
His work belongs to collections including MoMA in New York and the Musée Matisse in Nice. Dance (I) and The Red Studio reveal how he turned movement and everyday space into experiences of color. His graphic editions offer a way to approach that world and bring a luminous visual presence into your home.
